【シピボ族の精神世界を写し出す神秘の幾何学模様を泥で染める】
南米ペルーのアマゾン地域の先住民シピボ族の伝統工芸で、フリーハンドで描く模様の、細かい線までが漆黒に染まるのは、アマゾンの森の樹皮染液のタンニン色素の濃厚さと、秘密の大地に眠る「神聖な泥」の豊富な鉄分によるもので、深みのある黒を生み出しています。

【アマゾンの泥染め】
白地●樹皮の茶色の染液でデザインを描いたら、模様全面に泥を塗り付けると模様だけが黒く染まり、最後に泥は洗い流します。
茶色●樹皮から煮出す茶色の染料で布を繰り返し染めた後に、鉄分の多い特別な泥でデザインを描き、最後に泥は洗い流します。
