通常のものと比べてクリーム色っぽい色味があります。泥染めの工程で鉄分の多い泥を前面に塗り付ける際に泥の色の粒子で染まったと考えられます。アマゾンの泥染めに使われる泥は、灰色系とベージュ系の二種類があると思います。クリーム色の布は窓際の逆光でも、柔らかい光を放ち落ち着いた空間を演出します。この一枚は特にクリーム色が強くとても珍しいです。

●アマゾンの泥染め
フリーハンドで描く模様の、細かい線までが漆黒に染まるのは、アマゾンの森の樹皮染液のタンニン色素の濃厚さと、秘密の大地に眠る「神聖な泥」の豊富な鉄分によるもので、深みのある黒を生み出します。

【アマゾンの泥染め】
白地●樹皮の茶色の染液でデザインを描いたら、模様全面に泥を塗り付けると模様だけが黒く染まり、最後に泥は洗い流します。
茶色●樹皮から煮出す茶色の染料で布を繰り返し染めた後に、鉄分の多い特別な泥でデザインを描き、最後に泥は洗い流します。
